DRY NEEDLING
What is dry needling?
Dry needling uses fine acupuncture needles specifically placed into muscle knots.
How does it help?
The needle stimulates the connective tissue, muscle and nerve
helping to relax the muscle and increase blood flow to the effected area.
How is it different from Acupuncture?
Unlike Acupuncture which works on traditional Chinese Medicine, dry needling
works on the tight muscles and soft tissue of the body helping to relieve pain and aid healing. It is a fast, effective and safe method.
Are the needles clean and safe?
At Parkdale Chiropractic Clinic ALL needles are single use needles, which are individually sealed before use. They are administered only after the skin has been sterilised with an alcoholic swab and are immediately disposed of once they are removed from the skin.
Does it hurt?
Dry needling is different for everyone. Patients may experience a slight tingle. If the effected area is highly inflamed, the patient may experience slight discomfort, however Dr Jonathan's technique is subtle and gentle.
